Where is it headed?

As far as the future of convict labor in Kentucky, it doesn't seem to be going anywhere.  As mentioned previously, The Daviess County Detention Center in western Kentucky was using convict labor to make their own mattresses and prisonlegalnews.org reports that they are "...considering expanding the program by making and selling mattresses at cost to places such as homeless shelters. [They] also touted the benefits for the prisoner workers, in terms of “skills training and work ethic development.”  Unfortunately Kentucky views the forced labor inmates as an opportunity to save money, make money, and providetheir inmates with a "skill" so convict labor is in Kentucky to stay.
